Our biodegradable baby wet wipes have not been tested on animals at all, and have no animal by-products in them. WaterWipes biodegradable baby wipes are made from 99.9% water and a drop of fruit extract (contains trace of benzalkonium chloride).

Our baby wipes are vegan and have been approved by The Vegan Society.

My WaterWipes baby wipes feel slightly dry, what can I do about this?

Because our baby water wipes don’t use chemicals to "bind" the liquid to the wipes, the water can sometimes migrate to the bottom of the pack. To remedy this, with the sticker properly resealed, turn your pack of WaterWipes baby wipes upside down and then gently squeeze and massage the pack for a few seconds. This will quickly redistribute the water more evenly throughout the pack, and get the water wipes back to the same consistent wetness that they had when they were made in our cleanroom process.

If you are storing your wet wipes for some time, we recommend you the packs label-side down before use.

What are WaterWipes biodegradable baby wipes made from?

WaterWipes baby wet wipes are made from 99.9% water and a drop of fruit extract (contains trace of benzalkonium chloride).

Our biodegradable baby wipes are made from 100% viscose, a renewable, plant-based material. Viscose has a silky soft feel on your baby's skin and is strong, meaning it won’t break apart in your hand, so you can clean and change your baby with confidence.

Is there bleach in WaterWipes baby wipes?

No. Our baby wet wipes contain 99.9% water and a drop of fruit extract.

Can I use WaterWipes baby wipes on my baby’s face?

My Midwife recommends cotton wool and water for the first few weeks. Can I use WaterWipes instead?

Yes. When a baby is born, its skin is much thinner than an adult’s and therefore more delicate. Because of this, Midwife Margaret Merrigan Feenan recommends you use cotton wool and water OR WaterWipes baby wet wipes.

The water in our wipes goes through a unique purification process and so are a purer method for cleansing baby’s skin. The Skin Health Alliance has validated that WaterWipes are ‘purer than cotton wool and water’.

Are WaterWipes baby wipes suitable on sensitive skin?

Yes. Our sensitive baby wet wipes contain 99.9% water and a drop of fruit extract so are ideal for sensitive skin.

Why are WaterWipes baby wipes biodegradable?

Our biodegradable baby wipes are made from 100% renewable plant fibres. They have been independently tested to meet the industry standard for biodegradability (EN13432) and will biodegrade in 12 weeks. When a material biodegrades, it means that given the right conditions and presence of microorganisms, fungi, or bacteria, it will eventually break down to its basic components and blend back in with the earth.

Are the packaging materials for WaterWipes biodegradable baby wipes recyclable?

We are on a journey to make all our packaging recyclable. Currently all our boxes are made from recycled cardboard and can be widely recycled. Our bag is made from low density polyethylene. This material is recyclable at specialised facilities.

The film used to wrap our individual packs of wipes is not currently recyclable. The film we use plays a special role in keeping our wipes fresh, as it provides an airtight seal, which helps maintain the integrity of our product. At present, alternative recyclable films that have the same hermetic properties are not readily available, but we are currently trialling some options and are confident we will find a solution that protects the purity of our product and protects the environment.

Are WaterWipes biodegradable baby wipes compostable?

As our wet wipes are made using plant fibres, they can be disposed of in your compost bin that is collected and sent for industrial composting. You can put them in the compost bin loose, or wrapped in a biodegradable bin liner but for hygiene reasons it’s still best to dispose of wipes used for nappy changes in the normal bin. If you are unsure if your local bin provider accepts biodegradable baby wipes, please check their website.

WaterWipes biodegradable baby wipes are currently not suitable for home composting. Home composting takes longer because it usually takes place in a domestic garden using lower temperatures. Not every material will be suitable for home composting.

Are WaterWipes biodegradable baby wipes reusable? No, WaterWipes biodegradable baby wet wipes are not reusable and should be disposed of correctly after use. Please dispose of as per local guidelines.
